ARTIST STATEMENT
My practice primarily uses photography, drawing, and poetry to make sense of individual identity. I am fascinated by the subconscious and its ability to communicate through artistic choices. I create work intuitively and with much experimentation. After it's created I take a step back and make sense of the work. In addition to psychoanalysis, my work also explores the role images play in our future selves and in the shaping of our identities. My artistic process includes constant documentation with emphasis on quantity of works over quality. Every work is a form of communication and a representation of ourselves. Over time, these experiences come together to form our individual identities.
Everything unintentional is intentional and connections can always be made. Everything always says something, it’s just about listening. With this insight, my artistic process becomes a performance piece in itself.
